Well over 150 things you need to know about Plymouth University
Plymouth University is 150 years old in 2012 and to celebrate, this book trawls through time to uncover 150 things about the University and its history that we thought people should know.
Indeed, once we hit our target of 150 facts, we just couldn’t stop – and so there are a few additional facts along the way, including fascinating local facts, some famous folk with a University connection and even a look into the future to see what things might be like here in 150 years’ time!
While written for children, this book will appeal also to anybody with a connection to Plymouth University or who want an insight into what a university is like.
Authors Carly Watson and Owen Longhurst are currently in the final year of studying at Plymouth University to be primary school teachers while Jake Rowlinson is a recent 2011 graduate of the university having studied illustration. This is their first published book.
Our students were assisted in the research for this book by school children from Marine Academy Plymouth and St Budeaux Primary School who also produced their own parallel book about the history of their school.
